Broken cisterns

June 17, 2016

"For My people have committed two evils:
They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters,
And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.

Jeremiah 3:13

“Has a nation changed its gods, which are not gods? But My people have changed their Glory for what does not profit.” These are the words of the Lord spoken through the mouth of the prophet Jeremiah during the reign of Josiah, king of Judah, in a time when the Book of the law of God was lost [yes, sadly!] and the priests, the rulers, and the whole nation had turned away form God.

Just like in the days of Jeremiah, the Church today has also forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters.
The Word of God is once again (figuratively) lost and the people have turned to broken cisterns: new gospels that cannot save and leaders who do not know and fear God.

Oh Church, how far you have drifted away from the Savior!
In your assemblies, Christ the cornerstone is no longer found and sound doctrine has been replaced with fables.
I pray with all my heart that you return to Him who loved you and chose you to be His own.
