We often say in prayer and songs that we love God. Yet, how much do we really love Him?
Do we only love when all is good? The time of a worship service? Or do we mean every word of it?
Times are evil and even more difficult times are coming because of increasing lawlessness and wickedness.
“Anti-discrimination” Laws, political correctness, and the world’s antichrist mentality are making witnessing for the Lord more and more arduous around the globe every day.
It’s not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’ believers in Christ will again be opposed, tortured, and put to death like back in the first centuries AD.
Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3:12: “… all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution”. That’s a fact!
Right now, we do indeed suffer some persecution because of our faith, but greater persecution is ahead, and the question is… What would you do when it starts?
Would you be loyal to the One who called and saved you?
Would you hold firm to the testimony of Jesus-Christ?
Would you love as Stephen did (Acts 7:59-60)?
Would you be faithful until death? Or would you cower in fear and betray your Lord?
As a matter of fact, if we can’t love God or at least try to love Him in the same way that He loved us (and still does) and gave up His only Son for us (John 3:16), then maybe we don’t really love Him as we pretend we do everyday.
