A good son always obey and honor his father.
A good son knows his father’s will and won’t stray from it.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, did exactly this all the days of His life on earth.
Unlike Adam who transgressed the commandant of his Father (in Genesis 3), Jesus, being tempted as well, did not sin nor break the law of God (Matthew 4:1-11).
He showed us the perfect example of how to serve and please God.
His words were:
“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” (John 4:34)
“For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.”
John 12:49.
His ministry was to reconcile us to the Father as it is written:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5, 17-19.
And His obedience was complete:
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Philippians 2:5-8.
This is why He is the true witness and the perfect model we His disciples have to follow.
I pray Lord that You give us to become more like you everyday in Jesus name, Amen!
